Inspired by flowers, colors, and geometry, my artwork explores the interaction between structure and softness, precision and gesture, order and surprise. I study the math behind pattern groups and use those ideas to create visually interesting designs. Working on patterns by hand allows me to arrange and rearrange shapes as I explore different color combinations or symmetries. Each piece develops one layer at a time with a new color or shape at every step until the composition achieves a compelling dynamic.
I live in Denver, Colorado where I also work as a data scientist and statistician.
